Technical Specifications

The AquaGem is a fully self-contained mini water purification plant. It contains all the pumps necessary to draw water from a source, pump it through the unit and deliver it into a storage reservoir. The AquaGem frame, containing the components, is clad in attractive, weatherproof Chromadek. Access to the components is via a lockable steel door.

The AquaGem consists of a primary pump that draws water from the raw source to the primary clarification unit. The clarification is done by the partial removal of suspended solids in a clarifier assisted by the addition of a flocculant into the raw water line.
The clarified water is then pumped by a secondary pump into a deep bed sand filter for final cleaning.
At this point the disinfectant solution is dosed into the clear water on its way to a clear water storage tank.
From this tank, the necessary reticulation can be done.
Due to its very low power requirements, electricity can be supplied by a small genset (1.5 kVA) or a wind generator, or a small solar cell array.
