Process Versatility

Our standard AquaGem utilises conventional flocculation / coagulation chemicals and it is easy to dose other treatment chemicals into the water stream. Consequently, we are able to treat the following conditions:

• Suspended solids (Turbidity) - with an accompanying reduction in C.O.D. and B.O.D.
• C.O.D. (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and B.O.D. (Biological Oxygen Demand)
• pH
• Cyanide
• Iron & Manganese
• Zinc
• Arsenic
• All levels of bacteria

It is also possible to use the AquaGem as a pre-treatment for:

• an activated carbon filter
• an ion-exchange process with very specific removal properties, for the reduction of other problematic dissolved component
• softening of waters with high Carbonate hardness ( lime or soda softening )
• reverse-osmosis processes

Alternatively, the AquaGem can be used to treat the physical properties of the outflow from a biological filter (sewerage / grey-water reclamation).

Often, in industrial processes, the quality of the water required is not critical i.t.o. its chemical composition and physical parameters. Usually, the process only requires clear and pH neutral water. This is the usual case with rinsing processes for

Tanneries
Electroplating
Textiles.

In other food and HACCP compliant applications, “clean” process water can be treated and re-used for uses with less stringent health and quality requirements, such as to wash down floors, clean drains, rinse out handling and transport areas and irrigate gardens after initial use. This is applicable in production environments such as:

·       Abattoirs

·       Brewery

·       Dairy

·       Food processing plants
